Ladytron – A Death in London

Ladytron return with “A Death in London,” a track from their upcoming album Paradises, out March 20 via Nettwerk. It’s their first since 2023’s Time’s Arrow, and they’re working again with producer Daniel Hunt and mixer Jim Abbiss.

The song maps London through detached eyes—street names that lie, places that exist and don’t at the same time. “Slaves to the sun, we become one / For a little death in London” runs through the track like a mantra, mixing desire with decay. There’s imagery of dog day debris burning out in the dark, Kings Cross on fire, London Fields in chaos. It’s romance tangled with urban grime.

Musically, it’s sleek and urgent—exactly what you’d expect from Ladytron at this point. The production leans into their mix of tech primitivism and high-priestess disco, keeping things sharp without overcomplicating. Abbiss knows how to make their sound punch without losing the atmosphere.

The band’s been having a moment lately. Their 2002 single “Seventeen” went viral on TikTok, pulling in a new generation of fans. “Destroy Everything You Touch” landed on the Grammy-nominated Saltburn soundtrack. They’ve carved out space in electronic pop for over two decades by refusing to follow trends, and Paradises sounds like they’re not about to start now.

UK and North American tour dates are coming. If you’ve been waiting for new Ladytron material, this is it.
